Cloud computing operates via an internet-based computing model, sharing hardware, software resources, and information to provide on-demand services for computers and other devices. Cloud solutions are designed to offer enterprises flexible, efficient, and scalable computing resources—encompassing infrastructure, platforms, and software layers—to free users from the limitations of traditional on-premise deployments in resource acquisition, operational management, and more.
As cloud computing data volumes grow exponentially, demand for SSD capacity continues to rise. In big data processing and real-time analytics scenarios, read/write performance requirements are extremely high. To enable sub-second response and resolve performance bottlenecks, it's critical to fully leverage the performance advantages of NVMe SSD.
High concurrency and extreme workloads | Urgent need to improve data access efficiency | Pressing demand for system performance enhancement
DERA collaborated with the client on a development partnership, leveraging Open-Channel technology to migrate key SSD modules to the host side. This enabled deep custom hardware-software integration of the storage system, allowing for true workload-specific design and optimization tailored to different business load characteristics.
As an independent storage engine, the Open-Channel project (paired with RDS) has successfully integrated with multiple critical business lines. It achieves performance improvements that surpass what can be attained by solely enhancing storage performance or optimizing software logic in peer-grade products.
